About Team Quest
Who We Are
Team Quest is excited to participate in the 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon Charity Challenge on May 23rd and 24th, leveraging the power of our community to raise funds and awareness for the life-changing programs and services we offer.
About Calgary Quest Children’s Society
Founded in 1980, Calgary Quest Children’s Society is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting children and youth with moderate to severe developmental disabilities through Calgary Quest School and Calgary Quest Resources. We provide inclusive, purpose-built learning environments where young people can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through specialized programming and individualized approaches, we empower students to build skills, confidence, and independence, helping each learner reach their full potential.
Why We Fundraise
Every dollar raised by Team Quest directly enhances the learning environments, programs, and resources that support our students.
Students with developmental disabilities often experience barriers to engagement that can impact their learning and overall progress. Research shows that when learning environments are intentionally designed to meet diverse needs, students can build confidence, increase participation, and achieve stronger outcomes.
At Quest, we focus on creating inclusive learning experiences through multiple modes of engagement, representation, and expression. By leveraging innovative teaching strategies and technology, we create environments where students can actively participate, develop essential life skills, and thrive in ways that are meaningful to them.
Access to inclusive books and learning resources that are tailored to a wide range of cognitive and developmental needs, helping students build literacy, communication, and a love of learning at their own pace
Hands-on life skills development using safe culinary tools, allowing students to practice cooking, food preparation, and daily living skills that build independence and confidence
Adaptive seating that enhances comfort, focus, and engagement, supporting students who benefit from movement and sensory input to stay regulated and ready to learn
Technology such as iPads to support communication and learning, including the use of assistive apps that help non-verbal or minimally verbal students express themselves and participate more fully in the classroom
Equipment like tablet charging carts to keep devices accessible and organized, ensuring that learning tools are always ready to use and seamlessly integrated into daily programming
Interactive tools like SMART Boards that transform classroom engagement, making lessons more visual, interactive, and accessible for students with diverse learning styles
