Calgary Quest Children's Society is an official charity in the upcoming 2025 Servus Calgary Marathon
Together, Team Quest is aiming to raise $45,000 to celebrate 45 years of supporting families and children through our programs.
By joining or supporting Team Quest, you’ll help us continue to provide vital services for children with developmental disabilities and their families.
At Quest, we understand that raising a child with a disability comes with a unique set of challenges. We want to provide the parents and caregivers of our youth with disabilities with access to information, expertise, and tools that will not only benefit their children, but also help parents feel better equipped to support and communicate with their child. In addition, we want to provide opportunities for our families to connect with and learn from one another, with the goal of reducing stress and social isolation of parents and families as a whole.
Every dollar raised through the Servus Calgary Marathon will help us make this possible by allowing us to expand our family support offerings.
Here is what your donation will help make possible:
Therapeutic Resources: Parents of children with developmental disabilities often experience high stress and feelings of helplessness.
With one-on-one consultations, our therapy team will provide families with tailored strategies to support learning, communication, behavior, and emotional regulation at home.
Why it matters: These supports build confidence, reduce stress, and improve outcomes for both child and parent.
Educational Resources: Our parent workshops on topics like digital safety, SLP strategies, and caregiver well-being will empower families with
practical tools and knowledge. Why it matters: Education reduces isolation and fosters a sense of community—something many parents of children with disabilities deeply need.
Technology Support: Many of our students use adaptive communication software like Touch Chat on iPads. But not all families can afford this tool.
We’re building an iPad loaner program to bridge this gap.Why it matters: When the same tools are used at school and home, communication becomes more consistent and progress is faster, strengthening relationships and boosting confidence for everyone involved.
By providing these supports to our community we hope to:
Help parents feel supported and empowered in the education, development, and progress of their child
Help parents better communicate with their children at home, thereby increasing connection and reducing stress for the children and parent
Provide parents with helpful resources through information sessions
Help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation by creating a support network for parents
Every step, every dollar, and every participant brings us closer to our goal of $45,000, enabling us to continue creating a supportive, inclusive community for our families.

Quest Alumni, Staff, and Team Captain Alondra Hunt On Why She is Running for Team Quest This Year:
I’ve been part of the Quest community since 2003, first as a student and now as a Lunchroom staff member. After graduating in 2017, I stayed involved as a volunteer because Quest has always felt like a second home to me. The staff and students here are amazing, and I love being part of this supportive and welcoming community.
I’m running in the Calgary Marathon with Team Quest because I love walking, being active, and supporting a cause that’s so close to my heart. Quest changes lives, I’ve experienced it firsthand. The school gave me the support I needed to grow, and now I get to give back and help create the same opportunities for other students.
By joining Team Quest, we’re not just running, we’re raising awareness and funds for a school that provides essential education, therapy, and care for children who need it most. Every step we take helps ensure more kids can access the specialized programs and support that make a real difference in their lives.
I would love for you to join me! Whether you walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, being part of Team Quest means being part of a community that believes in every child’s potential. Let’s do this together!
